Looking at the current situation with the Corona virus, we all have to adapt to these new circumstances, and it can be sometimes very challenging especially for us students. The physical classes switch to online-classes, our study hours at the library switch to study hours at home, etc. It was sometimes already difficult to stay productive and motivated for a longer period but now that we have to stay at home, the concentration fades even faster which causes quickly unnecessary stress. But no worries, I got a great solution for how to stay motivated and focused. In this case, I’m talking about a “study buddy”.

According to a study in classmate peer coaching, there is proof that when students work together in small peer groups or with a “study buddy”, they can remarkably improve their academic success rates and their learning outcomes.

You are able to learn from each other, give each other feedback, analyze information in different ways, solve problems together, get a better understanding and retention of new material, motivate each other, and gain maybe also another friend.

But remember that choosing the right study buddy is very important if you want to benefit fully from the experience. Not everyone will have the same work ethic/approach to study, and you need to make sure that you two (or more) have the same goals and the same schedules to be able to work together well. It needs to be a two-way thing, and you should both put the same amount of effort into it.

It may be not something for everyone but you should try it out and maybe it will help you a lot! ;)

Let me know in the comments if you have a study buddy and what is the one thing about the other that you appreciate the most?
